Who we are
Utah Veterans Massage, now open to everyone
The Upright Clinic is the Utah Veterans Massage clinic for the general public. Same team, same licensed massage therapists, same offices.
1,000+sessions a month with veterans in chronic pain
-
Who we work with
Veterans come to Utah Veterans Massage on referral from the VA, through the VA Community Care program. That is who our therapists work with all day.
-
The cases we see every day
Chronic pain. Back, neck, shoulder and hip pain that has lasted months or years, old injuries that never fully settled, and complicated cases where several problems overlap. Some of the hardest pain cases there are.
-
What that means for you
Your therapist works on difficult, long-standing pain all day, every day, not just the occasional deep tissue request. Open to the general public: you do not need to be a veteran, and you pay directly.
What people come to us for
Most people book because something hurts, feels stuck or will not loosen up. The usual reasons:
- Back pain and stiffness
- Neck and shoulder tension
- Hip and leg tightness
- Tension headaches that start in the neck
- Aches from desk and driving posture
- Sore, overworked muscles from sport or physical work

Questions
Is The Upright Clinic part of Utah Veterans Massage?
Yes. Utah Veterans Massage is the main company, and The Upright Clinic is its clinic for the general public: same team, same licensed massage therapists, same offices. Veterans come to Utah Veterans Massage on referral from the VA, through VA Community Care, and our therapists work on their chronic pain every day.
The same therapists and the same hands-on approach are now open to everyone. That is why you book on the Utah Veterans Massage scheduling page and see its name on the office names. You do not need to be a veteran.
What is the difference between medical and deep tissue massage?
Both are focused work on specific problem areas, rather than a general relaxation massage. Deep tissue describes the pressure: firmer and slower. Medical massage describes how the session is planned: around a particular complaint. Your therapist will use what suits you.
Can anyone book?
Yes. The Upright Clinic is open to the general public. You do not need to be a veteran, and you book directly online.
Do you bill insurance?
No. Sessions are paid directly.
Veterans with a VA referral: go through Utah Veterans Massage, which provides massage through VA Community Care at no cost to the veteran.
What should I wear?
Comfortable clothing. You undress to your comfort level and are covered with a sheet and blanket throughout.
Will it hurt?
Deep tissue work can be intense on tight areas, but it should never be more than you are comfortable with. Tell your therapist and they will adjust.
